Creative details and metadata
Creative details, product formats, additional product categories and frame tagging rules.
Creative Details
In the 'Creative Details' section, fill in the 'Advertiser', 'Brand' and 'Product Category' fields. These three fields are mandatory and must be filled out before the creative can be approved.
You can select any Product Category, regardless of the Advertiser and Brand you have chosen.
Where a brand maps to more than one advertiser, selecting the brand does not auto-select an advertiser. Pick the correct advertiser from the full mapped list. Where only one advertiser is linked to the brand, it is still selected automatically.
Important: brands can map to more than one advertiser, for example after an acquisition. Selecting the wrong advertiser skews the commercial assignment used in your reporting.
You also have the option to specify an Agency or Specialist against the creative, which is helpful for reporting.
Please note: commercial metadata — Advertiser, Brand, Agency — is retrieved directly from VIOOH Central, so the values you see and select are the latest active data.
Tip: tag your assets to the appropriate categories accurately, so that creative prohibitions are correctly applied and the right frames are linked to the right creatives.
Tip: searching for a Brand, Agency or Specialist is not case-sensitive.
Tip: when a creative has been uploaded via the Creative Submission API, the 'DSP Advertiser Name' and 'DSP Agency ID' fields are shown. Both fields are read-only and display the values sent by the DSP.
Product Formats
Use the 'Product Formats' section to target your creative to specific product formats, by entering the name into the field and selecting it from the list. You can select multiple product formats.
Additional Product Categories
Use the 'Additional Product Categories' section to apply additional categories to your creative. This is useful if the creative contains a prohibition which is not captured in the Advertiser product category.
Example: a creative for Timberland clothing would have an Advertiser product category of 'Clothing'. If alcohol also features in the creative, applying an additional product category of 'Alcohol' ensures that the creative does not play on frames that prohibit alcohol.
Frame Tagging Rules
The 'Frame Tagging Rules' section allows you to manage your creatives at a more detailed level. Tag groups contain groups of frames that have certain targeting factors or prohibitions associated with them.
You may want to tag your creative with one of these to prevent it playing out on those specific frames where prohibitions apply.
- Type in a tag group and select it from the drop-down list. The drop-down shows the number of frames linked to each tag group.
- Select 'Include' or 'Exclude' in the Frame Targeting 'Set rule' field to include or exclude these frames for your creative.
- Select the eye icon to see the list of frames linked to that tag group. In the pop-up window, you can download the list of frames using the 'Export List' button.
- Select the rubbish bin icon to delete your selection.
Tip: the 'Included' and 'Excluded' frame count figures update based on tag group selections.
