Deal line settings: choosing inventory
Select environments, formats, venue taxonomy, frames, visual units, location, tags and the map.
Environment
Select the environments you want to target by selecting the '+' symbol.
Use 'Select all' to include every available environment in one action.
Tip: you can only select multiple environments if they have matching audience Category Group IDs.
Formats
Target frames by format by entering the format name in the field and choosing from the drop-down list. You can target multiple formats.
The formats available for selection are linked to whichever environments you have selected.
Venue Taxonomy
Target frames by venue type:
- Select the '+' icon.
- Select your venue types by category, or an individual venue type.
Frames
Target specific frames by Route Frame Code or Frame ID. You can either type route frame codes into the 'Frames' field, or upload a list as an Excel spreadsheet in the 'List Upload' field.
- Include or exclude frames using the '+' and '-' icons.
- Use the 'Clear' button to remove selected frame codes or uploaded lists.
- Use 'Select all' to select or deselect all the frames you have uploaded.
Important: each deal line can contain up to 9,999 unique frames. When you save a deal line, VIOOH Trading Manager checks how many unique frames your targeting has selected. If it is 10,000 or more, the deal line will not save and a warning appears telling you the limit has been reached.
The limit applies to each deal line individually. Campaigns are not capped, so you can add as many deal lines as you need.
If you reach the limit, broad targeting has usually pulled in more frames than you intended. Review your targeting criteria first — check your location, venue type and format filters, and look for rules that are wider than you meant them to be. If your selection is correct and you genuinely need more than 9,999 frames, split the activity across multiple deal lines within the same campaign.
Please note: the limit counts unique frames only. It does not count impressions, budget or spend.
Tip: file upload templates are located in the VTM Resource Centre, under 'Helpful Resources'.
When using an Excel template, make sure that cell A1 is titled Route Frame ID, and type your frame IDs into that column.
Visual Units
Use this section to target or exclude specific Visual Units (VUs) for your deal line. This works the same way as the Frames section.
- Type in individual Visual Unit Codes.
- Or upload a list using an XLSX template in the 'Visual Unit List' field.
When using an XLSX template, make sure that cell A1 is titled visualUnitCode, and type your Visual Unit ID numbers into that column.
Location
Use the 'Location' section to select frames within a specific country, city, postcode or zipcode, street, or address. You can target multiple locations.
Tags
In the 'Tags' section, you can target frames that have been categorised into groups.
The tag groups available in the drop-down menu depend on your Environment selection.
Tag groups are included by default, but you can exclude them by selecting the '-' icon. You can target or exclude multiple tag groups.
Map
The 'Map' section allows you to see a location view of all the frames included in your deal line, and the total impressions available on those frames.
You can zoom into the map and hover over a frame to see the frame ID number and the total number of impressions the frame will deliver.
