Editing and duplicating campaigns

What you can change at each campaign status, and how to duplicate a campaign.

Editing Campaigns

From the Campaign Management page, you can access existing campaigns and edit them if you have the correct permissions.

Search for the campaign you want to edit, hover over it and select the pencil icon next to the status.

You will land on the 'Edit' page, where you can see the details of the campaign.

Please note: the status of the deal line determines which fields are editable. Any fields that are greyed out are not editable for that deal line.

  • If you edit campaign-level information, select 'Save Campaign Info' in the Action Bar.
  • If you edit deal line-level information, select 'Save Deal Line' in the Action Bar.

Campaigns in 'Pending Approval', 'Approved' or 'Rejected' Status

You can edit all fields at campaign level and deal line level, with one limitation on 'Campaign Type'.

You cannot change a Non-Guaranteed campaign to a Guaranteed campaign, or the other way round. You can change a Non-Guaranteed Floor campaign to a Non-Guaranteed Fixed campaign, and the other way round.

The DSP can be edited and changed while a campaign is in 'Pending Approval' or 'Approved' status, before the deal goes live.

For Approved campaigns, use the 'Cancel' button or the status drop-down to cancel a campaign that is not yet live, including all the deal lines within the campaign.

Campaigns in 'Live' Status

Live campaigns have a few restrictions when it comes to editing.

At campaign level, the DSP is not editable. The DSP field is read-only once a campaign is live.

The same rules apply to editing 'Campaign Type': you cannot change a Non-Guaranteed campaign to a Guaranteed campaign, or the other way round.

At deal line level you can edit all fields except the start date. You can extend the end date, or reduce it to the current day.

For Guaranteed campaigns, the impressions and budget targets can be increased or decreased, as long as the new target is not below the number of delivered impressions or budget.

Tip: the delivered impressions and budget figures can be found in the Summary Panel, on the 'Delivery' card.

Please note: when you change the targeting criteria, you could affect the scope, available impressions, eligible frames and more.

Terminating a Live Campaign

To terminate a live campaign, you must terminate each deal line individually using the 'Terminate Line' button in the Action Bar. Continue until all deal lines have been terminated.

If a deal line is not yet live within a live campaign, select the rubbish bin icon.

Once you have terminated all deal lines, all fields become read-only and the campaign status changes to 'Terminated'.

Campaigns with 'Ended' or 'Cancelled' Status

You can reactivate campaigns in 'Ended' or 'Cancelled' status by creating a new deal line and saving it. This is available in both the Deal Form and the Planner.

For specific information on managing Guaranteed campaigns, see the PG Playbook for MOs.

Duplicating Campaigns

You can duplicate campaigns created within VIOOH Trading Manager. There are two ways to do it:

  • Within a campaign, select the 'Duplicate Campaign' button at the top of the Campaign Info panel.
  • From the Campaign Management page, hover over the campaign you want to duplicate and select the 'Duplicate Campaign' icon.

Either option opens a duplicate of the campaign. A confirmation message at the bottom of the screen shows that it has been duplicated successfully.

The campaign and deal line names are the same but with 'copy' at the end. These are editable.

Most fields reflect the previous entries, such as frame targeting, and all fields are editable. The DSP is reset.

Specify the DSP and date range for your deal line, then apply any other edits before setting a status for the new campaign. See Setting a Status.
