Building a creative set: selecting a Visual Unit

Start a creative set, find the Visual Unit you want to target and review its panels and metadata.

Building a creative set starts with choosing the Visual Unit, or group of Visual Units, that you want to assign creatives to.

Starting a creative set

On the 'Creative sets' tab, select the 'Create set' button at the top of the page. This opens the 'New creative set' page.

Tip: if you have not created a set yet, you can also select the 'New create set' button beneath the "No creative sets found" message.

The Visual Unit list

The 'New creative set' page lists your Visual Units, grouped by configuration. Visual Units belong to the same group if they share the same number of frames, frame specifications, environment, motion type and location. Each row is either a single Visual Unit or a group of Visual Units.

Column What it shows
No. Visual Units The number of Visual Units with that size
Panels The number of panels in the Visual Unit, and the number of frames with matching specifications
Size (HxW) The Visual Unit size specification
Environment The environment the Visual Unit belongs to
Motion type The motion type supported on the Visual Unit
City (location) The location or locations of the Visual Unit

Select the '+' beside a row to expand it and see the individual Visual Units in the group. You can target one or several Visual Units using the tick boxes, or select 'Select all'.

Filtering the list

Use the filters to find the Visual Unit you want to target. You can search by 'Deal ID', 'Environment', 'Visual unit code', 'Frame code', 'Location' and 'Ordering'.

Please note: filtering makes the results more specific, so it can reduce the number of Visual Units shown in each group.

The 'Ordering' filter

By default, the 'Ordering' filter is set to 'Frames unordered'. The list then shows only Visual Units whose frames do not have an order assigned in VIOOH Central.

Select 'Frames ordered' to see Visual Units with an assigned frame order. In these Visual Units, you can assign different creatives to frames that share the same specification.

Please note: the 'Ordering' filter only appears when frame ordering is enabled for your business. See Creative Sets: overview and setup.

Selecting a Visual Unit

  1. Select the Visual Unit, or group of Visual Units, from the list.
  2. Select the 'Select' button in the bottom right-hand corner.

You can select one Visual Unit, or a group of Visual Units that share the same aspect ratio and size.

The panel view

Once you have selected a Visual Unit, you see a panel for each frame in it. Each panel shows:

  • the frame orientation, 'Portrait' or 'Landscape'
  • the panel specification, width by height
  • the motion type supported, 'Still', 'Motion' or both

Metadata panels

Beneath the frame panels are two metadata panels.

The Visual Unit metadata panel, headed 'Visual units', shows:

  • the total number of Visual Units with the same configuration
  • the total number of panels within the Visual Unit with the same configuration, shown as separate panels for ordered frames
  • the location
  • frame specification data for all included panels
  • the environment

The creative metadata panel, headed 'Creatives', shows the details of the set:

  • the set status, which depends on the status of the creatives assigned to the set
  • the Advertiser
  • the DSP
  • the Brand
