Deal Health alerts and scheduled reports

Set threshold and scheduled alerts on widgets, manage them, and schedule reports by email.

The key performance indicator (KPI) widgets on the Deal Health dashboard can send you alerts by email. You can also schedule reports of the whole dashboard to be emailed to you and your team.

There are two types of alert:

  • Threshold alerts: for example, alert me if 'Total Revenue' goes above £50,000.
  • Scheduled alerts: for example, alert me daily at 5pm on 'Revenue of Programmatic Guaranteed Deals by Day'.

To be alerted when a specific loss reason exceeds a threshold, use the 'Alerts' tab. See The Alerts tab: loss reason alerts.

Creating a threshold alert

  1. Hover over the widget and select the 'Alert' icon.
  2. Choose the alert type. For a KPI widget, such as 'Today's Revenue', choose "KPI crosses a set limit". For a number widget, such as 'Total Revenue', choose "Values of an attribute crosses a set limit".
  3. An alert name is given by default. You can edit it.
  4. Set the 'Alert condition' and 'Threshold value', for example 'Greater than' and 50000.
  5. Select 'Change' to set how often the condition is checked, for example daily at 09:00.
  6. In 'Add subscribers', enter the email addresses of the users who should receive the alert.
  7. Select 'Create alert'.

Please note: the check frequency is shown with its timezone, for example "Daily at 09:00 hours(UTC)". Check the timezone before you create the alert.

Tip: alert emails are sent from no-reply@notification.thoughtspot.com.

Creating a scheduled alert

  1. Hover over the widget and select the 'Alert' icon.
  2. Choose the alert type. For a KPI widget, choose "Regular KPI updates". For a number widget, choose "Regular updates on values of an attribute".
  3. An alert name is given by default. You can edit it.
  4. Select 'Change' to set the frequency, for example daily at 09:00.
  5. To stop the alert at weekends, tick 'Exclude weekends'.
  6. In 'Add subscribers', enter the email addresses of the users who should receive the alert.
  7. Select 'Create alert'.

Managing alerts

  1. Hover over the chart or widget and select the three dots icon.
  2. Select 'Manage alerts'.

In the pop-up window, you can:

  • select 'Unsubscribe' to stop receiving an alert
  • select 'Edit alert' to change an alert
  • select 'Add subscribers' to add recipients
  • select 'Delete alert' to delete an alert

Scheduling a report

Scheduled reports are useful for proactive reporting and for sharing information with other users.

  1. In the top right-hand corner of the 'Filter' section, select the three dots icon.
  2. Select 'Create schedule'.
  3. Give the schedule a name, for example "Always On revenue report".
  4. Set the frequency: hourly, daily, weekly or monthly.
  5. Select the attachment type: PDF, XLSX or CSV.
  6. Select the 'Show advanced PDF settings' toggle, then use the tick boxes to choose which tabs and charts to include.
  7. Add a footer if you need one.
  8. Add the recipients.
  9. If you want, choose a saved view to set the report's filters.
  10. Check the report parameters, then select 'Create'.

Important: recipients must have ThoughtSpot accounts and access to the underlying data.
